Fairport Harbor Lakefront Park

This is the perfect summer getaway park. 21 acres of multipurpose beach provides plenty of space for people, picnics, bonfires, and kayak and paddle board rentals.  With a designated portion of the beach reserved for your furry companions, Lakefront Park is the only dog friendly beach in the county. This beautiful park provides patrons with their choice of both open and covered picnic and shelter areas, several playgrounds, public grills, full service restrooms and changing areas, two volleyball courts, sandy beaches, a newly installed wooden boardwalk, and an affordable full-service concession stand.

Marine & Lighthouse Museum

Location:  129 Second St, Fairport Harbor

Hours of Operation: 1 - 6 pm Wednesday, Saturday & Sunday

Season of Operation:   May - September


 Built in 1871, the tower now stands sixty feet high and has a spiral staircase of 69 steps which leads to an observation platform. In 1925 the light in the tower (a third-order Fresnel lens) was discontinued. It was replaced by a combination light and foghorn station which was built on the west breakwater pier head.

The museum houses a number of artifacts pertaining to life on the Great Lakes and other maritime exhibits. Attached to the museum is the former pilothouse from the Great Lakes carrier the "Frontenac".

Finnish Heritage Museum

Location:  301 High St, Fairport Harbor

Hours of Operation: Sunday, Wednesday 12-4 pm, Saturday 10-3 pm

The Finnish Heritage Museum was founded to preserve and perpetuate Finnish heritage and cultural traditions.  Museum staff archive Finnish and Finnish-American history through collection, preservation, and exhibition of special books, documents, records and artifacts. Such items are acquired, or documented, for their value in Finnish and Finnish-American history, biography, genealogy, commerce and folklore.

West Breakwater Lighthouse

Location:  129 Second St, Fairport Harbor

Hours of Operation: Dawn to Dusk, Weather Permitting

Best viewed from Lake Metroparks Fairport Harbor Lakefront Park or the Fairport Harbor Port Authority at the end of Water Street. Parking fee. Bring comfortable clothes and shoes to walk the rocky breakwall, weather permitting. Lighthouse is not open to the public.
